Well I hope that Madison and Natalie are fine with just being each others sisters and not having any other siblings, because that is no longer an option unless we adopt later down the road. Josh had "surgery" Thursday so there won't be anymore little Duncan's running around. :) Many were shocked that we had this procedure done so quickly after Natalie was born, but we knew we were done "having" kids. We've talked about adoption much later down the road, but we'll see what happens. We are so greatful for the two beautiful girls God has blessed us with. We are excited to see how they grow up and who they become. It's been an amazing journey so far...difficult, but amazing!
Updates on the girls:
-Madison is so busy. She stayed at a friends house last night so Josh could recover without having a two year old jump on him. She had a great time and did fantastic! She loves playing with her sister and is so gentle. It's a lot of fun to watch her try to figure things out and listen to her talk. She's starting to put some words together to make sentences like, "Where did it go?" and "Ummm...that's good." It's hard to believe she will be 2 in November. It's been a great two years.
- Natalie is doing much better! The medicine has completely changed her demenor since she's no longer in pain from the reflux. She's so happy and smiles all the time. She's very content playing on her play mat for a good while, as well as playing in her swing or bouncer. She absolutely LOVES bathtime and will kick and splash. We decided this week to begin transitioning her AGAIN to the pack-n-play. I've lifted up one end with a pillow under the mattress and also bought an inclined sleep positioner to help with the reflux. The first night was rough, last night she did great and tonight...is so so. We're going to master night times first and then naps. She still sleeps in the carseat for her naps. She's basically put herself on a schedule now and it's much easier to read her cues, which is nice.
So, things here are getting better as far as the girls go. Work on the other hand for me is very busy and very stressful. It's hard to balance everything, but God is good and has provided some part-time child care for Madi. Our good friend Katherine has agreed to watch her two hours a day four days a week for us, which will help ALOT! (Thanks Katherine!) Katherine lives at Josh's apartment complex so he just brings her there when he goes to work and back home when he comes home for lunch. Then after lunch she naps till I get off work. Works out perfect!
Sorry for the long entry. I feel like a lot has happened in such a short period of time.Comments:Add a comment:
