Natalie had her two month check up yesterday and it went pretty well. She weighed 11lbs. 9oz. (75% for her age) and 22 1/2 in. (50% for her age). We talked to the doctor about the reflux and congestion and she decided to put her on medication (Axid). She said the Axid will reduce the acid in her stomach, which will prevent the spit up from hurting. The congestion is related to the reflux because the spit up can come up through the nose occassionally (which we've witnessed...kind of weird...milk through the nose has a whole new meaning now). We were concerned about how little she slept during the day, but once we told the doctor how much sleep she was actually getting on average she wasn't concerned. But she said the Axid should help reduce the disruption of her sleep. She had four shots and an oral vaccination. After choking pretty bad on the oral meds she screamed her head off for the shots. I felt so bad for her, but she was perfectly fine after being dressed and held for a little while. So, all in all Natalie is doing great! We just still need to be more sensitive to her sensitivity I suppose. :) She definitely needs a daily routine otherwise the night is going to be rough.
Last night was awesome! We went to a friends house till 8 and came home and did our normal bedtime routine with the girls. I tried putting Natalie down in her bassinet (with it inclined at one end and with an inclined sleep positioner). She slept there for about 20 minutes and then slid down and woke up. So, I put her back in the carseat until we can figure out a way to keep her from sliding down. Her last bottle was at 8:45 so I expected JOsh to have to get up at 1 or 2 to feed her. 4:30!!! She went basically 8 hours between feedings and is now back asleep!!! Sleeping through the night, here we come. I'm not sure if this is it or she's just so worn out from her shots. We'll hope for the best.Comments:Holly: WOW! That is a long time for her to sleep! I'm knockin on some wood for ya! Hope it continues!!Aunt ReeRee: Awesome! 8:45 to 4:30?? Yay! It does sound like she's getting close to sleeping through the night. I know that day can't come too soon for you guys :-) And I can't believe she weighed almost 12 lbs. That's crazy! She felt light as a feather to me. Aidan felt like bricks at 12 lbs--hahahaAdd a comment:
